Both myself and my good friend and fellow caricature artist Mike Carlon recently travelled from Staffordshire to Stansted to catch a flight over to Eindhoven, Holland to attend the "Mont Martre in de Bergen" A portrait artists festival, where we sat among many other caricature artists, portrait and silhouette artists drawing members of the public from 1pm - 5pm before spending the rest of the evening socialising with the other artists in attendance, and catching up with friends.
It was a very enjoyable day and it was so nice to be invited and made to feel so welcome. As you can imagine copious amounts of alcohol were consumed, so myself, Mike and many others were a bit worse for wear the following day, but it was great to explore Eindhoven on the Sunday before returning to the airport for the journey home. The festival was a huge success and brought in a lot of interest from the locals, who loved having their portraits and caricatures drawn. It made TV news and was in the papers the very next day. It will be held again next year and I very much look forward to going back and doing it all again! .. Hopefully Mick Hollinworth and Tim 'Welly' Wells will be able to join us next time!
